When DNA buccal swab collections (cheek cells inside the mouth) are not available for DNA testing, other DNA specimen samples may be provided.  Other acceptable specimen samples include hair strands, licked stamps, licked envelopes, blood (on articles of clothing or garments), and used kleenex.   The viability test will determine whether or not there is adequate and sufficient DNA to work with and proceed with the desired DNA test.
